How Paradigm helped GMR Institute of Technology (GMRIT), Rajam, secure Deemed to be University status under the UGC's General Category — notified by the Ministry of Education in 2026.
General
Category under the UGC Deemed to be Universities Regulations, 2023

Year GMRIT was founded; autonomous since 2012
130 acres
Integrated campus at Rajam, Vizianagaram district
Feb 2026
Notified as Deemed to be University by the Ministry of Education
The challenge
With three NAAC cycles and NBA accreditation for all eligible programmes, GMRIT had the record. It needed a plan and an application that met the UGC's 2023 Regulations in full.
Our approach
We wrote a DPR that mapped GMRIT's strengths to every eligibility condition, then supported the institute at each stage of UGC scrutiny through to notification.
The impact
GMRIT can now design its own degrees and is expanding into multidisciplinary sciences, applied research and allied health sciences.

Paradigm understood exactly what the UGC looks for. Their DPR mapped our strengths to every requirement, and their guidance through each stage of review made the path to deemed university status clear.
We assess your eligibility, build the DPR and guide you through every UGC stage — General, Distinct or De Novo category.
